Writing Posters and Student-Friendly Rubric for Expository & Narrative

These posters are designed and created based on STAAR. They are specific to narrative and expository compositions. On the STAAR assessment (both narrative and expository), there are three dimensions of quality that are used in evaluation:

Organization & Progression
Development of Ideas
Use of Language and Writing Conventions

Students should be familiar with the expectations for high-quality writing in each genre. This is a good way to introduce the criteria for each kind of writing to them.

The posters are to be displayed as reminders of what is a 1 star paper vs a 4 star paper.
