Description

This is a simple way for students to practice writing a claim and counterclaim about a given prompt. Students are given questions and must choose a side by writing a claim. Then, the identify the opposing view and write a counterclaim. There is an example completed for them.

This would make a great warm-up, sub plan, or homework assignment after the idea is introduced. It would also be good as a quick review or a partner activity to get students to collaborate and discuss ideas.

I used this product with my 7th grade English class, but it would work well for any class where students are learning to craft an argument.

This item is part of my Argument Essay Practice Discount Bundle.
