FUN world music unit that will have kids laughing and dancing at their computers as they listen to music from around the world. Great for music classes including Choir, Music Appreciation, Band, Orchestra, and General Music.

This would ALSO work GREAT as a Sub bundle! Assign one country every time you're gone and need an easy plan for a substitute! By the end of the year, your students will be experts.

Comes with a Powerpoint with a slide for each country that includes music "buttons" that can be clicked on to take students to a youtube clip of music from that country. Each country includes 2-3 traditional clips and 2-3 modern clips of cultural music. Also included is a 3-4 page document for each country where students read about the musical heritage of the country and have a place for notes and responses to the music.

This unit is geared towards middle school, but the documents are unlocked and can be edited and easily reworked to target high school students by giving more space for response and reflection on the music, or simplified for Elementary students.

This unit could easily be used for an entire quarter as there are 21 lessons included, they take around an hour depending on how much discussion you want to include. Students working from home take 45 minutes on average to complete each country. OR mix and match to create your own personalized shorter World Music Unit.
