What educators are saying

I love this resource! It helps students to set goals of where they want to see their skills by the end of the school year, to see where they are presently, and to make plans and take the necessary steps to get where they'd like to be. Excellent!
Great resource to keep students accountable for their own learning as well as motivating them to reach higher goals!! Very comprehensible for students & it definitely empowers them throughout the academic year.

Description

These goal-setting worksheets will help your students to take an active role in tracking their progress and setting goals as they move ahead in their language skills and proficiency.

There are two goal setting exercises included in this file. Teachers may choose to use one or both of the activities.

The first exercise guides students through language-learning-specific goals. Students first rate their success in areas such as speaking, writing and familiarity with cultural aspects and then write goals for themselves based on their answers. These goal sheet are not specific to a particular language.

The second exercise is specific to the ACTFL Proficiency scale. There is an explanation of the scale and the Can-Do Statements for each proficiency level. This is followed by worksheets for students (and teachers) to first determine the current level of proficiency and and then to write goals based on the Can-Do Statements that are one level up on the proficiency scale.

There are worksheets for the different modes of communication (Interpersonal, Interpretive, Presentational). The teacher and choose to use all the worksheets sheets or to use them individually.
