What educators are saying

Very engaging for my students. Provided the needed supports for my students to remain focused on their research.
Best project to use during the World Cup. The person who made this was also very helpful. Thank you.

Description

Looking for a way to share the 2022 FIFA World Cup with your social studies students? This guided research project and presentation lets students choose one of the 32 participants of this year's tournament and helps them research and create a Google Slides presentation on their country.

Students are asked to choose one of the countries represented in this year's World Cup tournament and then given a series of guided points to research. There are five pages included, asking students to learn about the basic stats of the country, the culture, tourism, soccer and the history of the World Cup in the country, as well as some fun or interesting facts. In addition to the guided questions, students are also given helpful search terms to aid them in looking for this information.

Once students complete their research, they are asked to make a Google Slides presentation. There is a template included, as well a teacher sample for you to model your expectations. Once students complete this, they can share it with the class and work on their public speaking and presentation skills!

This resource is easily adapted to your classroom needs. It can be used as an independent project or cooperative learning. Even more, it is a great opportunity to come together as a classroom community and grow a mutual interest in a worldwide sporting event. Everything you need to get started is included, including teacher directions, student introduction, a summary sheet, and rubric. This is an extremely low-prep resource, and great for the week before Thanksgiving or Christmas vacation.
