These newsletters/study guides are based on the 2nd grade Wonders McGraw-Hill reading series. This is a weekly newsletter to send home with your students or add to their interactive reading notebooks. Each week's newsletter is one page and includes the following:
-Weekly Concept
-Essential Question
-Vocabulary words defined
-Spelling words (separate newsletters are included for the approaching, on level, and beyond level words)
-Genre (with brief notes)
-Comprehension Skill (with brief notes)
-Vocabulary Strategy (with brief notes)
**This set includes all the newsletters for the entire year (Units 1-6).**
Within each unit...
Pages 4-18 are for the 2014 Wonders edition OR the 2017 Wonders edition:
- Pages 4-8 are the newsletters that include the “approaching level” spelling words. I have put a small code (AL) in the bottom corner of the spelling box to indicate "approaching level."
- Pages 9-13 are the newsletters that include the "on level" spelling words. I have put a small code (OL) in the bottom corner of the spelling box to indicate "on level."
- Pages 14-18 are the newsletters that include the "beyond level" spelling words. I have put a small code (BL) in the bottom corner of the spelling box to indicate "beyond level."
Pages 20-34 are for the 2020 OR 2023 Wonders edition:
- Pages 20-24 are the newsletters that include the “approaching level” spelling words. I have put a small code (AL) in the bottom corner of the spelling box to indicate "approaching level."
- Pages 25-29 are the newsletters that include the "on level" spelling words. I have put a small code (OL) in the bottom corner of the spelling box to indicate "on level."
