The printed book comes already assembled and shipped to your door.

**********************************************************************

The purpose of nonfiction decodables is 1) to have a "made for the reader" phonics tool to practice the phonics skills a reader is learning, and 2) to teach information about a topic. Use these nonfiction decodables with your science and social studies units to build background knowledge AND put phonics knowledge and practice into action!

This product is ONE free pdf nonfiction decodable book, aligned to the Hello Literacy® Scope & Phonics Sequence (included) I created for 100% alignment to the phonics skills taught in order. This product is ready to print and assemble.

NOTE: WHILE YOU MUST PRINT, COPY & ASSEMBLE, I have made this process much easier by formatting the pages for double sided printing (on the short edge...directions included.) *pdf means these books are the black/white digital format versions of my printed decodables for sale at www.hellodecodables.com

These pdf nonfiction decodable books are best used after systematic, sequential, explicit structured phonics instruction for use during targeted small group time like structured literacy, phonics skill groups, guided literacy, phonics intervention or phonics tutoring.

I have created a Quick Placement Assessment, the QPA, (included in this product) so you can easily know where to begin instruction with each of your students.

While this set is written with the foundational phonics skills traditionally taught in K-2, the nonfiction titles are also appropriate for 3-5 (and middle school students) students decoding below grade level.

PLEASE NOTE: Grouping students by phonics skill IS NOT THE SAME as Guided Reading. Students in phonics groups are grouped based on phonics skills, not reading levels.

If you have questions, please leave them in the Q&A for this product and I'll be sure to answer them.

Thank you so much for considering this purchase, designed with the Science of Reading, and how the brain learns to read, in mind.
