Extended Description

How To Use/Lesson Plan?

As stated in the quick summary, it is a PDF. This means it will not be directly editable unless you have software to change it to Microsoft word or whatever you need.

YOU CAN PRINT if you need to, BUT!, it'd be a lot of ink from all the visuals, graphics, pics etc. This is why I have provided a different (Lower Priced), Microsoft Word copy of the same activity with less images and less aesthetic emphasis -- Which Means less Ink and easier print!

A Few Potential Uses In Your Classroom (Not Exhaustive List!)

  1. Enrichment Reading Assignment! (Default)
  2. Comparative project/assignment. You can use this as a written source in a larger project/assignment that compares the history/culture of 2 different societies in some form.
  3. Classroom Flip: Students are broken up into groups, with each group assigned one section of the reading to read together, discuss, and then present to the rest of the class. You could also do this with different articles/written sources altogether, having one group read this Article on Egyptian Women, and other groups reading/researching a different culture/society.

N.C World History State Standard Alignment (I Teach in NC!)

2. Consider multiple perspectives of various peoples in the past.

5. Evaluate the influence of the past on contemporary issues.

WH.H.2.8

Compare the conditions, racial composition, and status of social classes, castes, and slaves in ancient societies and analyze changes in those elements.
