This winter project based learning unit combines gingerbread house math and writing into one fun and engaging gingerbread house for sale activity! Perfect to keep students engaged in learning around the holidays and winter break.

This writing and math pbl unit is broken up into 6 sections:
- 1- Design Your House - students research gingerbread house designs, purchase supplies and calculate the total cost (student sheets are provided in decimals and whole numbers so you can easily differentiate).
- 2- Graph Your Gingerbread House - students collect data on candy used and create a bar graph.
- 3- Interior Floor Plan - students create a floor plan and calculate the area and perimeter for each room in their gingerbread house.
- 4- Describe Your Gingerbread House - students gather sensory words and different parts of speech to write descriptive sentences about their house.
- 5- Gingerbread House for Sale - students write a real estate listing for prospective buyers using descriptive writing.
- 6- End of Unit Projects - two different project options are included.
