Description

Are your students curious about what kinds of holidays the rest of the world celebrates? This download contains 15 close reading passages for winter holidays and festivals - both old and new - around the world, including the very first winter solstice celebration!

These informational passages each contain two pages of text-based questions that are rigorous and include higher - level questions. They are perfect for literature circles, homework, guided reading groups, or for independent practice. In addition, there are strategy posters for students to help them learn the strategies for reading closely and for answering short-answer questions.
