Which Way? - Using a Compass - Direction and Secret Phrase

My students have just started using a compass and I wanted a neat way for them to learn how to use it to find out the direction they are heading. In this activity students stand on arrows and move the compass so that the red arrow is on True North. After doing that they write down the code words. When they finish all eight arrows, they can solve the secret phrase. There are detailed directions on the cover page. This is about a half hour activity. Enjoy!
