What Exactly Is It?!?! is a game or activity that has students guessing common items based on elaborate descriptions!
This is a FUN activity to play with your Homeroom/Advisory students or if you find you have a few minutes at the end of a class - my students really love this activity and ask to play it whenever we have a few minutes! TWENTY Rounds of riddles included!
This slide deck includes TWO different versions of this activity:
- Slides 3 - 47: A more advanced version of this activity because there is no Word Bank included. Students must generate their own guesses based solely on the given descriptions.
- Slides 49 - 93: These slides are the same as slides 3-27 BUT THEY INCLUDE A WORD BANK students can use to help formulate their guess.
This activity is a nice way to get students warmed up and into “SCHOOL THINKING MODE”or to give them a “brain break” from what we’re working on in class!
My Language Arts colleagues have used this activity when working on word choice in writing.
