Description
Included in this product is a weekly spelling homework packet with the following pages:
• 4 different cover pages with instructions for color coding, sentences, and pyramid words. 1 page has no lines for spelling words, the other 3 have lines for 10, 15, or 20 spelling words.
• 4 different cover pages with no activity instructions.1 page has no lines for spelling words, the other 3 have lines for 10, 15, or 20 spelling words.
• 1 page (with instructions) for color coding spelling words by consonants & vowels. Vowels are listed in the instructions.
• 2 different pages (with instructions) for either 7 or 10 sentences. Instructions require students to underline spelling words in the sentences, include at least 6 words in each sentence, include descriptive adjectives, and begin sentences different ways. A checklist is also included on both pages to have students check their capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.
• 2 pages (a front and back, with instructions and a completed model) for pyramid words. There is room for 11 spelling words if you double-side these two pages. Copy more of the back if you would like students to write more of their spelling words as pyramids.
• 1 page for ABC order. There are 20 lines, and the alphabet is included along the bottom of the page.
• 1 page for Scrabble Add-It-Up. There is room for 20 words, and a sample is at the top of the page. Please note that you will need either actual or printable Scrabble tiles to complete this activity. In my classroom, we do this in class rather than as homework.
In my classroom, I assign one activity (color coding, sentences, and pyramid words) each night Monday through Wednesday nights. After the packet is handed in on Thursday, I can check which words students need additional practice with before the spelling test on Friday.
