Description
Need a way to plan what you will cook with your life skills SPED classroom? Link to REAL WORLD recipes found on the internet, so students can practice real functional reading of recipes & deciding if they would like to cook them! Whether or not you are actually cooking, you can use this template to get students to vote for what they would like to cook! All you have to do is update the document prior to activity with 3 recipe links. Students will then open the document, click on the 3 recipe links to compare & contrast, and vote “yes” or “no” for each recipe.
I like to use this activity every week, a few days before grocery shopping. The students learn autonomy skills (making choices), how to be flexible (sometimes their recipe isn’t chosen) & work on identifying their interests.
I’ve also found that repeated exposure to more complicated recipes with many ingredients has broadened my students’ food interests!
A bonus full page with 9 example links to recipes are included!
Sections are also included for you to plan upcoming recipes, and to save all your past recipes (so you can reuse in future).
