Looking to eliminate the question "what are we doing today?" in your classes? Why not use a weekly newsletter. I use this newsletter/schedule to give my students a snapshot of everything we are doing during the week along with important weekly due dates and important class reminders. I like to print on colored paper and pass out to my classes first thing every Monday so students can put it in the front of their binder. I also upload a copy to our Google Classroom in case students lose their paper copy. Hope this helps your students stay organized.
