Description
One of the best ways for a string musician to make money and continue performing is to be a wedding musician. However, there are many questions to think of when doing this, including how to choose music. I made this assignment for my upper level orchestra so that they could think about the types of pieces they would suggest to a couple that comes to them requesting a wedding musician. Students have to suggest pieces, give their duration, and then share where they found the music. They are given guidelines for each section of the wedding and the types of pieces the bride and groom would want. They then have to research and find music that fits the couple's taste and is easily arranged or bought.
