What educators are saying

Students love these daily video segments. They especially love seeing and learning about animals. I don't think they could ever agree on a favorite. I think every new one is the new fav. Creative activity that is very engaging.
My students look forward to Webcam Wednesday every week! They get so excited to see what the mystery animal of the day is. We use it as a closing activity and it is very motivating for quick clean up at the end of the day!

Description

Webcam links last updated in 2/2023. Please let me know of any links not working and I will fix them!

Webcam Wednesday is a daily video segment series that introduces students to an animal each week by providing an interesting fact and then prompting them to view a webcam of the animal. The introductory video clip is perfect for a morning news show segment, an addition to a morning meeting in the classroom, or as an icebreaker opening for a day of distance learning.

When you download this resource, you will open a zipped file that contains a PDF with teacher notes and webcam links, 40 narrated videos to introduce each animal with an interesting fact, and 40 images of the animal facts (these images could be used on a morning news show, but narrated by news anchors). All videos are MP4 files and around 1 minute or less in length. In the PDF you will also have the opportunity to download a Google Slides version of this resource with the animal introduction (not narrated) with a webcam link embedded into it, as an optional format.

This resource is no-prep and ready to go! Simply select the animal you want to use that week and introduce the animal and provide the webcam viewing! What a fun way to have students learn more about animals by observing them with their own eyes!
