Description

Hello teachers! This time I come with this new resource for your students to practice the weather vocabulary and also to make your students feel like they are on TV presenting the Weather. This is perfect to work on distance learning, just make sure you share the PDF or the screen with them and let the creativity flies. It was created with ESL students in mind, it can work for children, teenagers, and maybe adults.

OBJECTIVE:

Students will have a worksheet with 6 steps they need to follow in order to create a Weather Forecast Report. They can look up the information or you can use the slides I included with the information they'll need. When finished, they will be able to present the weather just by reading the information they just wrote.

TIPS & SUGGESTIONS:

This activity is 1 hour long (and it can get longer depending on the number of students). It's easy to follow and you can guide your students by filling in the info with them.

These are the steps:

1. Fill in with the part of the day (morning, afternoon, evening) and name and last name.

2. SS must create a name for the News Channel

3. SS write the name of the city they have chosen

4. Next, SS must search for the weather that day, next day, and the next days. Then, SS draw the weather and name it. Write the highest and lowest temperature on that day and last write the activities they can with that weather.

5. After, they do the same with the next step. SS draw the weather and name it. Write the highest and lowest temperature for tomorrow and also describe what clothes can they use in that weather.

6. To finish, they write the highest and lowest temperature for the next days.

7. Now, they can do the role-play following the steps.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

This .zip file includes the worksheet as a fillable PDF and another printable PDF. Also, a PPT (PowerPoint) presentation where you can find some Weather forecasts with different countries for them to use.

If you want to get creative and create the mood for your students, you can put some generic news music before starting the role-play. If you have many students, they can work in pairs.

I also have some other Role-plays you can use in my store if you want to check them out. I'll leave you some here:

Talking Bingo with Role-play Flashcards

Getting to know you Bingo cards

Tragic Christmas Stories

If you like it and use it for your students, don't forget to follow me and leave a message here to let me know how it went. Enjoy and happy teaching!
