Description
This Smartboard interactive game helps students understand and practice using various number operations to make numbers. It also reinforces the concept of fact families. The game gives them one minute to come up with as many number sentences as they can that equal the given number. They then move forward that many spaces on the gameboard.
I used this with my 2nd grade Resource students. It can be modified for younger or older students by changing the range of numbers or by the teacher stating that students can use subtraction, multiplication, division or any combination. You can allow operations on 3 numbers. You can allow students to use manipulatives to make it easier. I sometimes gave two points for using subtraction (and one point for addition) to encourage them to challenge themselves. There are so many possibilities!
You will need to provide students with a small whiteboard/marker, or paper/pencil.
This file begins with 4 warm-up pages where students fill in the blanks in number sentences.
The gameboard has 4 markers for individuals or teams. You can copy and paste as many more as you need.
Please give me feedback: ask questions, make comments, express outrages!
