What educators are saying

My daughter entered the science fair and I was completely out of my element. This helped so much. Thank you. Great resource for science and elementary students.

Description

In this STEM challenge, students have fun playing with water as they build a working water wheel and connect science and engineering with history and social studies.

There are two different ways you can lead the STEM challenge. For younger students or if you are short on time, students can follow the provided directions to build a water wheel. If you have more time and want more of a challenge, you can have students design and build their own working water wheel following the Engineering Design Process.

In addition to the STEM challenge, there are reading passages and questions included about the history of water wheels and hydroelectric power to tie together science, history, and engineering.
