Description

Grade 8 Science Ontario Curriculum
This SMARTBoard lesson addresses the idea that we all have a water footprint, and that in these times of ongoing water concerns around the world, what we choose to eat can make a positive impact. Students begin to consider how much water it takes to bring a pound (450g) of different foods to our table (and that eating meat using more water than eating vegetables). There is an anticipation guide to help activitate their prior knowledge, and to assist in reflection at the end of the lesson. There are also critical thinking questions that can be assigned as homework, or done in groups/class discussions.
