What educators are saying

My students loved using this resource and thought it was very fun and engaging! It was a perfect addition to the lessons I have been teaching them. It's always great to incorporate activities such as these!!
This was a good activity to give students additional exposure to content-rich vocabulary. This was used in pre-k, so we cut them for most of the students.

Description

There’s plenty of big vocabulary words to be learned when kindergarten - 2nd grade students study the water cycle; so I designed this simple water cycle raindrop craft, which provides a super-fun way to learn the water cycle and practice the science terms: evaporation, condensation, & precipitation

Teachers comments:

  • “My Kinders LOVED this activity. It really helped them learn the process and they had a lot of fun!”
  • “Fabulous!”
  • “Fun teaching tool.”

There are 3 raindrop "covers" to choose from, plus blank templates so students can draw & write their own graphics. (See PREVIEW for samples.)

All the patterns in the packet come in black & white for students, as well as full color, so that teachers can quickly & easily make a sample to share.

There are several “wheel” options as well, which come with and without words, should you want your students to label their own.

Blank patterns are also included, so that older students can illustrate their own water cycle “pie sections”.

There is a 3-part water cycle option: evaporation, condensation, & precipitation; as well as a 4-sectioned wheel that adds “accumulation” to the cycle.

Simply pick which one is appropriate for your students, then “print & go!”

Use the anchor chart posters to introduce and explain the water cycle, and the song: “The Water Cycle Goes ‘Round & ‘Round” for more fun reinforcement.

Teacher Comment:

  • “I loved this activity! The kids really enjoyed the song as well. We sang it daily.”

When children have completed their raindrop wheel, review the water cycle using the craft as a manipulative, then have children pick a partner & take turns explaining things once more.

I’m Diane from Teach With Me, hoping you and your students have a “wheel” fun time learning & turning.
