What educators are saying
I used this book with a student after teaching the sight word "want." It worked well and the student really enjoyed the book and pictures!
Description
This emergent reader little book will help young students practice early reading skills, while learning about wants and needs!!
Throughout the book, students learn about things that we need and things that we want. The following items are included: house, slide, fruit, ice cream, vegetables, candy, water, lemonade, clothes, and toys.
The text follows this pattern:
Do we need (item)?
Yes, we need (item).
OR Do we need (item)?
No, we do not need(item).
We want(item).
This book includes the same text on both the top and bottom of each sheet of paper to make copying, sorting, stapling, and cutting easy to create a class set of little books!!
In addition to the emergent reader little book, there are also pocket chart cards to illustrate the vocabulary words from the book. There are also 2 optional pages for the back of the book; on these pages, students will illustrate and write their own items that they want and need.
