Wagons Ho! Social Studies Oregon Trail Daily Writing Exercises with Rubric

Are you ready to head out on the trail with your wagon train?

This Powerpoint presentation will have you stopping at 12 different locations along your 2,000 mile trek out west. Each has a situation regarding that stop and a writing prompt. Provide your students with a little 'journal' to write in along the way. Share one slide with your students each day and let them write. By the end they'll have a written account of their own journey along the Oregon Trail.

This product includes a title page, teacher instruction page, as well as two slides at the end of each product for selling purposes.

You can differentiate the requirements for this project depending on your students' skill levels. You could have them write for a certain length, add pictures, include maps, attach ephemera, etc.

This product also includes a rubric to share with the students on the first day and to use as a grade at the end. This version does not include graphics due to copyright infringement.
