Description

Whether being used in the classroom or for distance learning, this WebQuest -style lesson gives students an effective overview of the three main turning point battles of World War II in Europe (Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, and D-Day). After completing a short two minute contextualization video that sets the historical situation of World War II, students are given the option to choose from either a short video clip or article-linked source to complete their summary and analysis question for each event. In the end, this lesson can facilitate excellent discussion by having students discuss the final analysis question: What was the most important turning point of WWII in Europe?

This lesson was adapted to fit for distance learning in either a U.S. History or World History course studying World War II. Completion time depends on the student but it was designed to take around 30 minutes.
