What educators are saying

Great resource to introduce vocabulary. I like that it can be used school-wide during the morning announcements. Daily activities for each set of words is included.

Description

Little kids love BIG WORDS! This vocabulary enrichment program can be used schoolwide or by individual teachers. Two advanced vocabulary words are introduced each week, and through short daily word talks (or school announcements), students easily learn the meanings of scholarly words such as "enlighten." "tranquil," and "abyss." Students are encouraged to illustrate word meanings and their artwork is put on display. The word talks also include ongoing practice of words throughout the year.

The program is explained in detail HERE

This is Year One of the program.

The first week of Year One word talks is freely shared HERE.

Included in this resource:

33 Weeks of Word Talks

  • List of 66 advanced vocabulary words (2 per week)
  • 265 word talks for Mon. through Thurs. each week
  • Friday announcements relate to student artwork submitted
  • 33 blurbs (one per week) to send out to teachers if used as a schoolwide program
  • ideas for prize drawings for students who turn in artwork

This program can be continued indefinitely. Year Two will be available in August 2023, and Year Three will be available in 2024. Follow this store if you'd like to be notified!
