Description

This fun room is all about WHEELS! The Digital/Virtual Library includes 38 books read aloud (via YouTube!) with both fiction and non-fiction titles. There are also 21 WHEELS-themed music and/or informational videos in the Music/Media Room, including Dances and Brain Breaks! Students will spin with excitement as they read and learn about the history, types, and uses of WHEELS.

Selections are geared toward Early Education and Primary Students with age-appropriate content and delivery, yet they offer many benefits for older children, as well. Engaging illustrations enhance comprehension and provide scaffolding for English Language Learners, too.

During Distance Learning, I used these resources for quick access in Zoom Class. My students enjoyed them independently via Seesaw, as well.

We have now returned to in-person instruction and as much as I prefer 'real' books in my hands and those of my students, as well, precautions are sometimes still in play. I often utilize the virtual library and music/media room format during whole group activities. They provide a budget-friendly collection of thematic resources all organized in one place. Students look forward to their turn to choose for the class and enjoy individual access via tablets in our alternative classroom library.

The home-school connection is key, so students will continue to have access at home. They provide thematic enrichment, supplemental activities, and opportunities for shared reading with family & friends.
