Voyager and the Golden Record

This is a cross over English-Science-Social studies class.

It is a PPT but it looks and feels like a Prezi.

This can easily be applicable to any age group but most likely elementary school and it could provide content for at LEAST 2 class periods. The only limitation is your imagination.

It quickly covers the journey of the Voyager space probe. Just some of the really interesting stuff and then pivots to focus on the golden record that was installed on voyager as a message to any intelligent life that may find it.

The main focus of the lesson is on thinking about what represents us as individuals vs what represents the human race. What makes us all the same and what makes us special and different. This was prepared for a traditional mandarin speaking audience as that is where I teach but it can easily be edited to any other language.
