Description

NO PREP!!! Simply make a copy of the escape room google form and assign it to your students!

  • Students only need a piece of scratch paper and a pencil with them while they do this. This is for writing down words after opening each gate. At the very end, students will unscramble the words to form a sentence.

  • Your students will be targeting the following vocabulary strategies: Figurative language (similes/metaphors & idioms), context clues, synonyms & antonyms, prefixes, and greek roots– PERFECT to use for test prep!

  • There are 8 questions students must answer. The gate will “unlock” if they submit the right answer AND in the correct way (each question tells them how to type the answer).. This is also great for having students be better with following directions.

  • Optional: Provide your students with help cards. They can only ask questions if they turn in a help card to you! I have been determined to make my students better problem solvers this year… and this has helped. It limits them from asking they can figure out the answers to.

*Note*

*My 4th grade students took approximately 45 minutes to complete this escape room (some a little less, some a little more).

*I also recommend going through the escape room yourself before assigning it to students so you can better help them if needed.

*My students had the most difficulty with gate 6 where they had to type the 2 things being compared in the similes and metaphors.

Enjoy!
