Visual Story Pack - Pyramus and Thisbe
Description
In order to tell an engaging and comprehensible story, you do not have to pre-teach the vocabulary. In proficiency- and standards-based teaching, our goal is not to get the
students to remember certain words or grammar features, but to take from the
comprehensible language those elements that they need at that moment to build a
more robust mental representation of the language in their minds. Thus, each student
will take from the language what they are ready for that day. Our only goal is ensuring
that the language and the storyline are comprehensible.
In this Visual Story Pack, you will find:
1. An engaging Visual Story in a Google Slides Presentation with Speaker Notes to help the teacher tell the story.
2. A script of the speaker notes to be able to print out and use while telling the story.
3. A link to the original source of the story.
4. A Thought Bubble Review activity to be used after telling the story.
5. A Slide and Show Review/Retell activity to be used after telling the story.
6. At least one link to a curated Youtube video with a video representation of one version of the story.
7. A suggested lesson plan sequence for using the materials included.
