Description
This is a 4-page assignment (2 pages if you do front and back) with 6 parts. I have used this with high school students and it seemed to work well with their level. You could use this with Middle School, though they may have a bit of difficulty with the readings (it would work well for kids who can read on grade level).
Here are the parts to the assignment:
Part A: Read a short passage about the Vietnam War and answer 3 questions.
Part B: Look at 2 pictures form the Vietnam War Era and answer 2 questions.
Part C: Read a letter from a Vietnam soldiers written to his wife while he was fighting in Vietnam and answer 4 questions.
Part D: Read part of Lyndon B Johnsons speech from Johns Hopkins University about the Vietnam War and answer 1 question.
Part E: Complete a flow map of the Vietnam War (Students will have to have prior knowledge of the events of the war in order to complete)
Part F: Read a passage on the Vietnam War Memorial and answer 6 questions.
