This was a very helpful resource with my attempt to drive home the point of how the military draft occurred during the Vietnam War and the difficult scenarios that occurred during that time.
Description
Some of the best group discussions I have ever seen came out of this assignment, which asks students to "serve" on a Vietnam-era draft board to determine who goes and who stays from 10 short, realistic bios, and defend their decisions. Students get worked up and passionate! It really helps bring the tension and frustration of a draft (and allowing exceptions to the draft) to life.
