Viaje a México

ATTENTION: this is a Notebook file, intended for use on Smartboards.

This unit introduces 4 regions of México to young students: las montañas (Chihuahua), la costa (Oaxaca), la selva (Yucatán) and el desierto (Sonora), along with some animals that typically are found in each region (oso, lobo, peces, atún, tortuga, jaguar, serpiente, armadillo, pájaros, coyote, conejo, zorro, lagartija). It includes carefully selected pictures, maps, links to videos, games, engaging activities with teacher's directions in pull out tabs and links to check the weather in the different regions, as well as 3 worksheets and an additional page with more suggestions for games. It includes a performance task that has students choosing their favorite region and, after checking the weather, packing a suitcase to go there. It also has printable playing cards and plane tickets. The unit is aligned to the FL new standards, at the novice low level.
