Description
This scavenger hunt is the perfect activity to help students learn about the history of Veterans Day, the United States Military, and honor our veterans. The short pieces of nonfiction text in the Veterans Day scavenger hunt provide information using a fun format for students in middle grades. Digital, print, and QR code options available.
Thirteen short pieces of text (1 - 2 paragraphs) serve as the clues. Students use these clues to search for the answers to specific questions (printable or Google Form self-correcting activity). Scavenger hunts are a great way to get students up and moving around!
Text is appropriate for upper elementary and middle school students. It does include some challenging words due to the topic (armed forces, Armistice Day, veteran, treaty, vessels...). Students may benefit from working with partners or in small groups.
Includes several presentation/activity options:
- digital text (Google Slides)
- self-correcting activity sheet (Google Forms)
- printable scavenger hunt activity sheet
- color text
- color QR codes
