Description

Are you struggling to find ways to integrate Valentine's Day into your science classroom? Try using this highly engaging nonfiction read that will have students read to learn about the science and connection to the human body systems and relationships that we have with others. This article will detail how and why we are attracted to others and how that attraction leads to deeper connections with others. Students will also learn why some relationships end and healthy strategies to deal with the end of a friendship or love interest. This article can be included in your human body systems unit, part of a health unit on relationships, or to help teens in a counseling session.

  • Learn about the physical attraction to others based on chemicals released by the endocrine system.
  • Learn how relationships strengthen as we form closer bonds with others.
  • Learn about the qualities and characteristics of healthy friendships.
  • Learn the reasons why some relationships end.
  • Discuss strategies to get through friendships and love interests that do not last.
