    How Does This Challenge Work?
The premise of the challenge is this: 3 animals have written love letters to their loves, but Cupid just had his wings waxed in preparation for Valentine’s Day and can’t fly to pick them up. The letters are coded, so students must work together to crack the code and figure out which animal sent the letter. Then, students must use the materials Cupid provided (tape and conversation hearts) to make a raft that will carry the love letter to Love Island where Cupid is currently located.

Students will ONLY use the candy hearts and tape to make the boat.

    Dissolving Candy Heart Science Experiment
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone loves science and everyone loves candy! This experiment combines both! Students will do experiments to see if candy dissolves in water or different liquids.

Check out this 30 second video to see this experiment in action!

    There are three versions:
Version 1: Students will test if candy hearts and chocolate candies dissolve in cold or hot water.

Version 2: Students will test to see if there is a difference in how candy hearts dissolve in hot water, cold water, soda, and juice.

Version 3: Make Your Own Experiment: Give students various liquids and candy options, and have them create their own experiment!

This is a great experiment to introduce or review The Scientific Method, and gives students a chance to fill out their very own lab report!

Experiment could be completed independently, in pairs, in small groups, or as a whole class.
