Children will have fun sorting rhyming words with this engaging phonological awareness activity. This Valentine's Day rhyming activity is perfect for February literacy centers or as a small intervention group activity.
The Valentine's rhymes set includes 40 cards with two pictures plus "rhymes" & "does not rhyme" sorting mats. Children will say the words, determine if they rhyme, and sort them by placing them with the matching sign.
Playing this game will enhance phonological awareness, listening skills, vocabulary development, and comprehension.
Try this activity during circle time by sorting the rhyming cards on the pocket chart . . . and then keep it in the Pocket Chart Center! Try them as a small group warm up activity, too!
