Valentine's Day Cupcake Bulletin Board Kit or Door Decor with Writing Activity

This cupcake bulletin board kit is perfect for February. Everything you need to make this bulletin board is included. Just print the pieces on paper, cut them out, and then attach them to your bulletin board or to your door. Please click the preview to view the pieces of this kit.

***My bulletin board is 48" X 36". Your bulletin board needs to be at least that big for this kit to work.***

When the bulletin board is all done, it states, "LOVE is the greatest refreshment in life. -Picasso." Then, to make your bulletin board or door more meaningful, I have also included a writing activity.

WRITING ACTIVITY

Before students start writing, they first learn about Pablo Picasso. I have included a two-page passage that you can read to them. After learning about Pablo Picasso, they try and write their own definition of the word "refreshment." Then they are told the real definitions of "refreshment," write them down, and then draw a picture of a refreshment.

Once they have an understanding of the word "refreshment," they try and guess what Pablo Picasso said was the greatest refreshment in life. After they are told that he said "LOVE" was the greatest refreshment in life, they explain in their own words what they think Picasso meant by that and if they agree.

After they have finished the Picasso worksheet, they answer the following questions:

1. What is something you love to do that makes your house a better place?
2. What is something you love to do that makes your school a better place?

3. What is something you love to do that makes the world a better place?
4. What is something you love to do that makes you happy?
5. Who do you love and why?

Then they pick one of their answers and write it on a cupcake. Those cupcakes then get hung on the bulletin board, making it eye-catching and meaningful.

If you do not want to do the writing activity, I have included a page of just cupcakes that you can print off and have the students fill out.

4 other sayings:

-"In this class, you are loved!"

-"In this school, you are loved!"

-"We love this class!"

-"We love this school!"

If you choose to create the bulletin board that says, "We love this class!" or "We love this school!" I have included hearts that the students can fill out. You can then use those hearts to decorate the bulletin board.

I you want to type your own instructions, I have included editable hearts and cupcakes!!
