What educators are saying

I ended up with COVID right before Valentines Day. I was scrambling to get sub plans ready and find enough things for my students to do. This was perfect!!!!!
This was fun. Easy to set up and more challenging than I expected since we only did a brief review of Order of Operations before doing this. It got the kids up and moving and working together and it was a great Valentine's Day activity.

Description

WHO KIDNAPPED CUPID? Help figure out:

WHO DID IT? WHERE? And HOW?

This C.S.I. Math Review is a great way to involve a fun game of clue into your classroom all while practicing math skills! This is the perfect resource to keep on hand for centers, small group work, sub work, independent or morning work. The best part is that it is NO PREP! Just print a copy of the (Laminated) task cards to place around the classroom, and print a copy of the Student Page for each student/group and the students are ready to start learning!

This activity helps students calculate and practice:

*Order of Operations

*Division

*Multiplication

*Parenthesis

*Subtraction

*Addition

TIP* Check student's answers after every few problems are complete, to ensure the clues are correct.

Evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. Include expressions that arise from formulas used in real-world problems. Perform arithmetic operations, including those involving whole-number exponents, in the conventional order when there are no parentheses to specify a particular order (Order of Operations). For example, use the formulas V = s³ and A = 6 s² to find the volume and surface area of a cube with sides of length s = 1/2.
