Description

This is a STEM Challenge perfect for Valentine's Day! No one likes to eat the candy hearts anyway, why not use them in the name of science?!

This project is the same challenge as my Nursery Rhyme STEM resource: Rub a Dub Dub Boat. It just has a Valentine theme instead of Nursery Rhyme.

Students will construct a barge that holds the most hearts using only aluminum foil! My goal with this resource is to make STEM as easy to implement as possible!

Included:
Graphic Organizer (with and without guiding questions)
Rubric (with and without number values)
Picture Examples
Detailed Notes to Teacher
Parent Letter
Extension Menu
2 Additional Recording Sheet options

Materials Required:
Aluminum Foil (precut into squares)
Tub of Water
Lots of Candy Hearts

**Note** This gets a little messy when the barges sink and all the hearts fall into the water. Have trash cans and paper towels handy!
