Valentine Heart Healthy Unit Lesson Plans for Physical Education

This unit can be done for an entire week. The lesson plans are written for students in grades 1-5. Every lesson includes a warm-up activity and another activity focusing on the day’s content. Questions for class discussion follow each day’s activities. There are Unit tests (with answer keys) for students in grades 3-5. Each day’s lessons correspond with a letter in the word HEART. Take one letter per day and highlight the lesson focus:

Monday H for Healthy Eating Habits and Food Choices

Tuesday E for Exercise Daily

Wednesday A for Arteries and Veins

Thursday R for Risk Factors

Friday T for Tell a Friend
