This United States Symbols and Monuments resource is an exciting and simple way to teach some of the most important U.S. monuments and symbols to primary age students. My 2nd grade students loved this quick mini-lesson on several of the United States of America's most recognizable monuments and symbols. You can expect to see 10 monuments and symbols taught in this resource.

This resource includes 10 teaching slides explaining what each of the monuments and symbols are with real-life photographs of each. These slides don't take long to teach, and they are a fun and engaging way to teach these U.S. monuments and symbols.
It also includes 10 matching cards with those same color photographs of each monument and symbol. You can have students practice matching monuments and symbols photographs with their names in partners or even at small group. You could also do an around the room scoot activity with these!
There are also two different matching worksheets included with this resource. The first is a quick practice sheet where students match names and photos of symbols and monuments by drawing a line to each. The second is a cut and paste activity labeling the monuments and symbols.
I have also included a quick assessment, answer key, and study guide to use in your classroom to follow up your teaching of these 10 monuments and symbols.
