Description
STOP WRITING IEPS WITHOUT YOUR STUDENT’S INPUT! If you’re a Transition, Self-Contained, or Special Education teacher for students Ages 13 -20, it is legally mandatory to include students in the IEP process! Teach students the self-determination skills to take control of their futures, by explaining to students what their IEP goals & vision are, how to rewrite their goals into their own words, and why this is important!
• This simple to use activity can be done once a year (with every student). Then, students should LOOK at their created goal sheet every day!
• I left these activities COMPLETELY editable in case you need to change anything! (But all you will likely need to do is delete some extra rows that aren’t used.)
• This is a GREAT activity to include during the first few weeks of school. I often set a para up with this task while I am busily doing 1,000 things!
✧ HOW TO USE
• STEP #1 : Print out the IEP Goals (or use a Teacher Goal Sheet you created) & a copy of the blank student sheet (unless you are working virtually).
• STEP #2: Set a para up (with the instructions) or sit with a student 1:1 to rewrite their IEP goals.
• STEP #3: Highlight the main words (or even just rewrite the goals on the blank goal sheet for the student.) Talk about what each goal means.
• STEP #4: Have students retype their goals. You can have them do this independently if able!
• STEP #5: Delete extra rows. Print & Go!
