Description

I Want To Buy A Car - Why did I do this project?

7.RP.3 Use proportional relationships to solve multi-step ratio and percent problems.

According Common Core Standards for the 7th grade math curriculum, students need to be able to understand simple interest, tax, mark-ups, mark-downs, gratuities, commissions, fees, percent increase, percent decrease, and percent error. These skills relate very well and easily to real life scenarios! I like designing projects in which students solve problems they may be faced with in the near future. Purchasing a car and calculating the taxes, interest, and insurance is something they might be actually doing in about three years.
