Description

In this zip file are four files!
1. video of Folk Tune duet with Xylophone
2. video of Folk Tune duet with ukulele 5 note scale
3. Folk Tune easy note page
4. PDF explanation of this system

Check out my free video, ukulele numbering system for the explanation of why I number the strings "backwards." I'm not the only teacher on the internet who uses this system. It is rather a more "western" approach and easier for the youngest students to remember because it correlates to how we read in western society...from left to right. Before deciding upon using this system or not, I researched what other teachers were using, and then I utilized a common sense approach.

As an elementary music teacher, I am more concerned about motor skill development in the way that I introduce my students to plucking the strings. My view is to make learning the instrument as fun and as easy as possible! The biggest lie we feed our children is that music is a gift that you are born with. Music is a skill that is developed as all skills are...through practice.
