Description

Art with Jenny K. is proud to introduce these Extra-large Ugly Christmas Sweater Coloring Pages, aka "Table Posters." Think of these Table Posters as extra-large holiday coloring pages for your students! XL coloring pages mean XL fun!

They make great holiday displays for your walls, bulletin boards, or door when finished! Let your kids decorate for you!!

My Holiday Sweater / Ugly Christmas Sweater Table Posters are small posters (or big coloring pages) that you spread out on a table and have small groups of kids work on together—or apart.

They are immediately engaging, lead to great discussion and cooperation, and, most of all, they are fun!

...as one teacher said, "I have never seen my students work together so well! They absolutely loved this activity, and I liked that I could put them in small groups."

- Ms. Appleby.

This set includes the following designs:

  • Sweater with bulbs
  • Sweater with wreath
  • Sweater with gift package
  • Sweater with candy canes
  • Sweater with holiday lights
  • Sweater with snowman
  • Sweater with no design — blank so your students can design their own!

WHEN

My table posters are great for morning work, stations, early finishers, and many other occasions—basically, whenever you want your students to collaborate and work together. I hope that you find these to be as useful with your students as I do with mine.

HOW

I spread these out on the tables when children arrive—and after some very brief instructions, they get right to work. And really, the only instructions I give my students are that they should work with their partner(s) to come up with a color scheme and to include their name somewhere on the table poster.

TIME

I enjoy listening to them talk about who will color which section and what colors they will use. It takes 3 children about 30-45 minutes to complete one image (this will depend on the age). It is a great, calm way to start class and get things going in the creative (and correct) direction!

DISPLAY

A bonus to these table posters is that when the kids are through, you have a set of beautiful images with which you can adorn your classroom door, bulletin boards, and more!

Unlike my popular, larger, collaborative posters—where children color the pieces according to a key, cut the pages out, and then assemble the poster—for these simpler Table Posters, you (the adult) cut the pages and assemble the poster first (it's super easy). Then the students color the fully-assembled table poster.

  • Each poster has 4 pieces, and each piece fits on regular 8.5” x 11” paper. If you have a parent volunteer or an older student from a buddy classroom, they could easily help you with this first part.
  • This resource includes instructions on how to create my posters with photographs explaining each step.

I hope your students have a wonderful time working together on this Holiday activity.
