Description

This lesson includes multiple excerpts from Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations, and Carl Marx's The Communist Manifesto. Students can (either individually or in cooperative learning groups) discuss, analyze, and summarize in their own words what the author is conveying.

This lesson also provides help with some of the more difficult vocabulary that are found in the documents to aid students as they navigate challenging texts. Notes are included to help clarify historic language, also providing support for students who may not be as comfortable with difficult terminology.
