Description

These sorting activities are great for learning about the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. A perfect 4th, 5th, and 6th grade resource for Constitution Day, 4th of July, election season, and government units.

It may be used as a teaching tool, review or assessment. It contains a sheet with directions on how to use the activity.

Includes the cut-out cards that are to be used for the activity, and the answer key.

The activity cards contain:

  • the preamble,
  • seven Articles of the Constitution,
  • Constitution Title,
  • Bill of Rights Title,
  • and the ten Amendments of the Bill of Rights.

Suggested uses:

  • Have students match the Article and Amendments to their definition while researching the Constitution and the Bill of Rights using books or online resources.
  • Use the Answer Key as a study sheet to discuss the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
  • Print out the cards, laminate them, and use them on a magnetic board to build the Constitution as a whole group.
  • Younger students may use the Answer Key to build the Constitution and glue them onto a manila or construction paper individually, with a partner or in a small group.
  • For older students, to use as a higher order thinking activity, or as an assessment, once the teacher has taught the Constitution, the students may put the Constitution together without any aide, individually, in pairs, or small groups.
