Students will learn the intricacies of the United States Constitution through a variety of hands-on resources.

In this lesson, students will work individually or in groups to complete an analysis of FOUR different types of governments (Direct and Representative Democracies, Anarchy, and Monarchy). This lesson is best taught at the end of the Revolutionary War when the Founding Fathers struggle with what style of government would work best.

✔ 2.) The Articles of Confederation In this short reading Articles of Confederation assignment, students are introduced to the first government of the United States, the Articles of Confederation, and the reason for its collapse.

In this Shays' Rebellion and Articles of Confederation activity, students are taught through multiple learning styles to help them understand the event known as Shays' Rebellion and how it demonstrated the weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation.

In this highly engaging Constitution and Compromise lesson, students examine the four compromises that created the U.S. Constitution and the United States of America. ✔ 13.) Electoral College Student Project | Election Research, Map, + Math Integration. Integrate math into social studies with this project that has students take ownership of a specific election in history. Students use paper (or Google Slides) to accumulate voting results, candidates for office, and more!

✔ 14.) Supreme Court Landmark Case: In this web quest, students conduct research on six major supreme court cases before choosing two of their own!

✔ 15.) The United States Constitution Unit Test! The test contains 45 multiple choice questions that span across the entire content of this unit and 2 short answer questions that require more in-depth analysis.

✔ 16.) United States Constitution "I Can" Statements and Learning Goals! Log Format! This activity guides student learning throughout the unit, holds students accountable, shows each child what they are responsible for knowing and doing, and helps keeps the focus of your classroom!
