What educators are saying

I loved the use of these posters with the examples of each type of writing. It was nice to have the differentiated versions as well.
Love these resources. I am a big fan of Erin's RACE writing materials and videos. This goes right along with her program.

Description

Print and Digital! These 26 posters are a wonderful reference for introducing and practicing different types of writing (opinion, personal narrative, fictional narrative, informative, research, how-to, friendly letter, and poetry). They contain a brief definition of each type of writing and a picture.

Also included are posters with writing samples (for each type of writing) that can be displayed alongside the correlating type of writing poster (with matching border colors for easy identification). These writing sample posters highlight different elements that should be included in each type of writing. For the opinion, personal narrative, informative, and research writing sample posters, 3 levels are included (K-2nd based on Common Core standards). Note that the Informative poster also comes labeled as “Explanatory” and “Expository” to accommodate different preferences.

Print, laminate, and display the posters! Small cards are also included (identical to the posters) which can be laminated, cut out, hole-punched, and placed on a ring. Note: The posters are one full page each, and the cards are small (9 per page). Please take a look at the preview to get a better glimpse of this poster set!

Purchasing this resource will enable you to download the traditional PDF version to be printed as well as have access to a digital version to be used with Google Classroom™ or any LMS (through TpT's digital tool, Easel)! This way, students can have access to these posters on a device at home or in the classroom. I have already prepared a student digital version of this resource for your convenience (deleted teacher pages, added instructions for students to underline the elements in the written examples, etc.). But you can also make your own changes (in terms of text boxes, instructions, etc., but note the content of the pages is not editable). For more information about how TpT's digital tool Easel works, please click here! Also check out the preview above for a glimpse of this digital version!
